Please, describe the creative position of your fashion label!
I am a visual artist and designer currently living Berlin. Aiming the interdisciplinary approach, my works are based on the idea of interfacing fashion design and multi-media art practices. Working within video installation, sculpture and textile, my projects draw upon feminist and Vietnamese diaspora perspectives examining humanity’s relation with technology and consumerism.
What is the creative project like you want to realize for FASHION POSITIONS 2020?
For FASHION POSITIONS 2020 I will exhibit my latest work 'using one's feet has become an option of last resort'. The multi-media installation consists of textile sculptures and a 3-channel video installation. The project explores the motorbike culture and the emerging female motorist street style in Vietnam, dubbed as ‘Street Ninja’. By deconstructing and reassembling the ‘Street Ninjas’ UV protection clothes to ‘wearable sculptures’, the project suggests a strategy for reimagining the ‘Street Ninjas’ as protagonists countering their discriminatory experiences.
